The Receptionist is a key "front line" contact for the
passenger to reach the maximum guest satisfaction.
Similar to duties at the front desk of a fine hotel, the
Receptionist provides guest services, information,
exchanges travellers checks and foreign currency,
posts mail, assists with resolving minor guest
complaints and any additional administrative duties
that may be assigned by the Purser.
The receptionist maintain a calm, courteous and
professional demeanour at all times regardless of the
guest's behaviour. At times, the job may be stressful
due to interaction with many different people with different types of personalities, and being expected
to perform multiple tasks quickly. Personal qualities that a receptionist is expected to have in order
to do the job successfully include: attentiveness, a well groomed appearance, initiative, loyalty, maturity,
respect for confidentiality and discretion, a positive attitude and dependability.
